My favorite social media is always with me, at home or abroad.
When I'm at home, most of the time my camera isn't at my side. The same is true when I'm spending a significant amount of time abroad somewhere. When I lived in Ecuador for a semester, I was told not to keep my nice camera at my side 24/7. As a result, I constantly used my phone to photograph what I saw in Cuenca on a day-to-day basis. When I was in Europe during the World Cup in 2014, my camera never left my side (though to be honest, that's because I was there primarily as a photographer). Though I occasionally post DSLR images to Instagram, most of the images on my feed come from my iPhone or GoPro.
To say I am an avid Instagram user is an understatement. I'm an avid GoPro user as well. A lot of what I share doesn't interest all of my followers (as much as I love my dog, photos of her aren't as cool as, say, the Berliner Mauer East Side Gallery), but that's okay. I follow all sorts of accounts, from my friends to photographers I've met, to strangers who live in/work in/visit beautiful places and meet inspiring humans. I've heard that the eyes are windows to the soul. Well, Instagram is a window to my life. Take a look for yourself: follow me! |
