Celebrating 100 years of the Pulitzer Prize
In August 2015, I began work on a project for the Ohio Newspaper Association: a documentary featuring a few Pulitzer Prize-winning stories from Ohio news outlets. Though I wasn't able to include all of the amazing stories I read in this 16-minute piece, the three stories I eventually selected to feature represent a variety of subjects and prize categories. This project could not have been completed without the help of my research assistant, Carol Hector-Harris, the videographer, Spencer McCrossen, my friend with the golden voice, Brad Friedman, an Emmy-winning composer-musician at The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer, Jon Fobes, my mentor and project supervisor, E.W. Scripps School of Journalism Director Bob Stewart, and of course, the wonderfully talented journalists who produced these pieces in the first place. Many others contributed to the success of this project, as outlined in the credits at the end of this short film.
